Interlibrary Loan

All libraries, if they are to successfully meet their customers' needs, must be able to provide materials and information beyond their local collections. This is especially true when libraries are small and long distances from other sources of information, as is the case with many of the IFLS libraries. Interlibrary Loan (ILL) helps libraries supplement their collections by providing access to the resources of other libraries.

IFLS makes every attempt possible to provide an efficient ILL service to the libraries within its 10 counties. This service includes serving as the clearinghouse for interloan requests and paying the costs of transporting materials via courier for IFLS libraries.

IFLS can also help supplement reference services provided by your library. See the How to Request Guide, Subject Requests in the FAQ section or contact Maureen Welch, IFLS ILL Coordinator.

Questions and comments regarding the ILL and reference service, IFLS interloan policies, and the delivery service should be directed to the IFLS interlibrary loan staff.
