Each month's circulation activity is compiled in spreadsheet format.  Files through February 2010 contain worksheets 1-3; files for March 2010 and beyond contain worksheets 1-4.  By default, the first worksheet (MORE Circulation Summary) will display upon opening the file.  To view more detailed information, access the other worksheets by clicking on the titled tabs on the lower left part of the display.

Worksheet 1: MORE Circulation Summary

MORE libraries are listed by their two-letter codes (or roughly in alphabetical order by community name).  Transactions are recorded by terminal (or statistical group) number, then totaled for each library on the highlighted line below.  If no transactions were performed from a particular terminal/statistical group during the given month, it is not included on the list.

  • Check-Outs: Total number of items checked-out to any patron from a work station at your library.
  • Renewals: Total number of items renewed from a work station at your library.
  • Items Circulated: Sum of check-outs and renewals.
  • Percentage of System-Wide Circulation: The proportion of total system circulation activity performed at the corresponding terminal/statistical group number.
  • Total Items Borrowed from Other MORE Libraries: Items borrowed from other MORE libraries to fill holds for patrons at your library.
  • Total Items Loaned to Other MORE Libraries: Items borrowed from your library to fill holds for patrons at other MORE libraries.
  • Net Difference: The difference, in number of items, between the number of items borrowed from and loaned to other MORE libraries.  A negative number indicates that more items were borrowed than loaned; a positive number indicates that more items were loaned than borrowed.
  • Net Difference: The difference between the number of items borrowed from and loaned to other MORE libraries as related to total borrowing and lending traffic as a percentage.  A negative percentage indicates that more items were borrowed than loaned; a positive percentage indicates that more items were loaned than borrowed.
  • Check-Outs of Locally-Owned Items: Percentage of check-outs that were of your library's items, rather than items borrowed from other libraries.  Calculated by subtracting total items borrowed from total checkouts, then dividing by total checkouts.
  • New Patron Registrations: Number of patrons records created during the given month listed by the Home Library field in the patron record.  Newly created patron records with no home library designated are not counted on this worksheet.
  • Checkouts to New Patrons: Number of items circulated to patrons whose records were created in the given month.

Worksheet 2: MORE Borrowing & Lending Data

MORE libraries are listed by their two-letter codes.   Column A lists circulating libraries, row 2 lists owning libraries.  For example, to find the number of items Glenwood City Public Library borrowed from Centuria Public Library, find 'gc' in the first column and 'ce' in the row across the top.  To find out how many items Cameron Public Library loaned to Milltown Public Library, find 'cm' in the row across the top and 'mi' in the first column.  Totals at the end of each column indicate the number of items loaned by each library; totals at the end of each row indicate the number of items borrowed by each library.

Worksheet 3: MORE Raw Circulation Data

Circulation activity listed by terminal/statistical group number.

  • CHKOUTS: Total number of items checked-out from a particular terminal/statistical group.
  • CHKINS: Total number of items checked-in from a particular terminal/statistical group.
  • RENEWALS: Total number of items renewed from a particular terminal/statistical group.
  • ITEMS CIRC: Total number of items checked-out and renewed from a particular terminal/statistical group.
  • HOLDS: Number of  holds placed by staff using Millennium (not the OPAC)
  • HI/RECLL: Recalled items--not used by MORE
  • TOTAL #: Total transactions; the total of all preceeding columns
  • PERCENT: Percentage of total circulation activity performed by a particular terminal/statistical group.

Worksheet 4: New Registrations

Patron records created in the given month, listed by home library.

  • Record Count: Number of patron records created in the given month.  This worksheet includes records for which no home library is designated, including online self-registrations.
  • TOT CHKOUT: Number of items circulated to the new patrons as counted in the previous column.  This number includes both initial checkouts and renewals.
