Milltown Public Library is looking for a part-time (29 hours/week) Youth Services Librarian, who is responsible for the development and implementation of the library’s service to children. Mon – Fri; Rotate 4 hours on sat.  Some evening hours required. The Youth Services Librarian:

  • Develops and carries out programs for children 0-18 and their families
  • Selects material for, and maintains children’s and teen’s collection
  • Provides customer service, including answering questions and helping with technology for people of all ages
  • Collaborates with Unity School and other partners

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma
  • Experience in a customer service role
  • Experience working with children and families preferred
  • Prior experience with library systems preferred

Knowledge, Ability & Skills:

  • Knowledge of children’s literature and child development preferred
  • Knowledge of library skills and operations preferred
  • Ability to plan, develop, and execute programming for children
  • Ability to work effectively with children and people of all ages
  • Attention to detail and good problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent computer and technology skills
  • Proficient in posting on social media
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
